Who is chintano? Part II

I failed to mentioned the newest member of the team, Ilmars. Ilmars joined the team from Latvia. Chintano has been seeking out ways to get the best and brightest on board. Ilmars will be leading the company's efforts to grow our software development center in Europe. Welcome aboard Ilmars!

Who is chintano?

We are still a relatively small company but have a good history together. The company was founded by Ramesh and Geoff early this year. Ramesh is an avid Squash player and loves to travel internationally. Geoff plays in band and enjoys a competitive game of pinball.

The two of them and I worked together in San Francisco years ago where we built PrivacyBank.com, an online wallet company. We ultimately sold that company to InfoSpace who took our technology and integrated it into their mobile and online commerce solution.

More recently we have gotten back together to build the next generation advertising solution which we believe will help get the right ads to the right people at the right time.

The Future of Advertising is Here

According to this article from Inc. about The Future of Advertising, the amount of money spent on online advertiing reached $9.6 Billion in 2004, an impressive 33% jump from the year before.

These numbers have been pushed up as marketers have been able to justify their advertising spend through demonstrated ROI. That ROI has only been realized as a result of improved targeting of advertisements. This article does a pretty good job of sending that message. Take a look.

The origins of Chintano Blog

This blog is meant to track the ideas and developments of a young company involved in online advertising. We have been developing a new technology to help present the most effective advertisements on publisher websites. In the coming weeks, I will be posting links to articles I think are interesting, writing about new developments within the company, and generally talking about the world of online advertising.
